Wayne State's Office of Teaching & Learning offers a Mid-semester Assessment Program that collects assessment data in the form of surveys conducted by an OTL representative. 

Survey responses (right) are collected first in small breakout groups of students in the class being assessed, and then compiled as a whole.  Responses with an asterisk (*) indicate a class-wide consensus on that response.

This semester, I received some of my favorite feedback, and also was happy to see improvements in some areas.  For example:
  • Although there's lots of assignments, we feel they are all important & beneficial to our learning b/c they build off each other etc.
  • Honestly we both feel like this class is being taught better than any other English class we've previously had.

In previous semesters, students have responded positively about:
  • flexibility in my teaching
  • communication
  • easy to understand method of teaching
  • relates techniques to everyday things
  • "cares if students know the material or not and makes sure we understand"
I've had constructive criticism on:
  • email response time
  • busy work
  • not providing enough examples for assignments​
... all of which my Winter 2019 MAP (above) reported positively.
